aldobilotta Furniture

Aldo Bilotta, resident Furniture Maker at Nyora studio Gallery, has a strong background in Fine Arts having graduated from the Victoria CollegeĀ  with a major in Sculpture. Since that time Aldo has been working predominantly in wood, with a particular passion for furniture making.

Aldo’s furniture is both contemporary and relevant yet makes a strong connection with and reference to Classical design. Aldo has a particular interest in The American Federal Period, French Empire Style, Art Deco and Biedermeier which serves as the inspiration for much of his work.

Exquisite and intricate geometric marquetry design are a major feature of Aldo’s style along with a very skillful use of inlayed burls, veneers and banding patterns. The result is ‘one off’ pieces that are both decorative and functional, collectabile and stand alone.

Aldo uses a variety of hardwood timbers such as rosewood, walnut and padaukas along with redgum and jarrah. Please contact Aldo at the studio if you would like to discuss a particular project or design idea with him. Aldo is able to custom design/make bespoke pieces to your own specifications and needs.
