Flame Robin Stopped on a Thistle
Word on the birding street was that the flame robin was back in the local area, so we went to
investigate. We found a field of thistles, some taller than me, and noticed a small group of six
flame robins flying throughout the spiky maze. This beautiful male landed on top of a thistle,
hidden within a thicket. I love the way that the thicket looks like a landing pad with thistles all
around in a fairytale-like scenario.
