Resident Artist Program

Resident Artist Program 2025

We are excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2025 Resident Artist Program. This will be held at Nyora Studio Gallery, a thriving centre for the arts located in the leafy suburb of Eltham, north of Melbourne. A unique opportunity exists for artists to focus on advancing the development of their own art practice.

This is within an environment that nurtures, supports, and encourages self-directed studio practice in all media and genres of art. A flexible and nurturing environment with support and mentoring from Emmy Mavroidis is the perfect way to foster individuals’ artistic pursuits while also challenging and supporting your growth. As a mentor, Emmy is humble, fun, perceptive and highly professional. She helped me to extend my skills and more importantly, build my confidence as an artist. This has been crucial to my recent successes. Her guidance and feedback on my work and her emotional support gave me the confidence to enter my paintings into competitions. As a result, I have been a finalist in 3 national art competitions.

Nyora Studio has been a highlight in my creative life and attending workshops there since 2009 has been responsible for seeing me re-establish my art career, supported and encouraged me to expand my way of seeing; and then launch me into a full university pathway as a mature aged student.
