Exterior Sculpture WINNER!

The Judges Kevin Mortensen, artist and Simon Gregg, Curator, Gippsland Art Gallery Sale comments:

ALDO BILOTTA   Emoji

  • Fresh, well made, interesting in having the aubergine colour on the base.
  • Creative use of materials, drawn to the form of the eggplant with the colour removed.
  • A resolved use of materials, forms, colour and volume. Doesn’t  take itself too seriously and is engaging, but the same time is highly resolved and is finished to a high degree.
  • The curved form on top of a cubed base sets it off, and its fitted well to the base. The base wasn’t just incidental but became part of the work.
  • Playful work, engaging and inviting.
