ABOUT NYORA STUDIO GALLERY

OUR STORY

Nyora Studio Gallery opened its doors as an Art and Craft Centre twenty years ago. It is situated on Naarm, the traditional lands of the Kulin Nation, in the north-eastern suburb of Eltham, Melbourne. What was once an orchard has now become a gathering place for people of all ages and backgrounds who share a passion for art.

Nyora is an artistic hub founded by Emmy Mavroidis and Aldo Bilotta, who are both practicing artists. Our mission is to foster creativity and innovation by providing a dynamic platform for artists to showcase their work. We strive to cultivate an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages artistic expression and community engagement. Through our exhibitions and programs, we aim to inspire, educate, and connect artists, curators and academics, with audiences locally and globally.

What is the significance of satellite studios in the contemporary Melbourne art scene?

Satellite studios, like Nyora, play an essential role in the contemporary Melbourne art scene. These studios provide additional spaces for artists to work, collaborate, and exhibit their creations, fostering a broader artistic community. They also offer unique opportunities for creative exchange and innovation, bridging the gap between urban and suburban art landscapes.
