    OMD (for those of you who don’t understand French….it means,
    Oh Mon Dieu or Oh my God!!!) when I see that photo I have to take a very deep breath and pinch myself because I still can’t believe I was there, at the Academie Chaumiere. The room was like an Atelier you might see in a Matisse painting, the stools also probably of that era and we were told before we left that artists such as Giacommetti had come to draw there……..I Know I sound a bit like a gushing teenager but really the emotion and excitement of sitting in that space and the energy!!!OMD
    An absolute highlight.

    It really was special to draw in the famous Academie Chaumiere, where the likes of Giacommetti, Modigliani drew & painted. There was a Giacommetti exhibition on in Paris ( on after you all went home). In one of the catalogues was an old black & white photograph of Giacommetti drawing at the Academie Chaumiere .
    Moli…. I think you were sitting where he was sitting!!!!
